RV REPAIR (Day 53 Aug 5)

WHAT! MORE TROUBLE! Poor Dee and John. They have spent 7 hours today at a very nice 'Mom and Pop' repair shop for RV's. They spent so much time there that they were beginning to feel like family. The owner's wife drove them to a Cracker Barrel so they could have lunch.

At first it appeared the RV needed a new battery. How strange as it had been replaced a little over a year ago. The auxiliary battery in the back of the camper was also bad. The mechanic persevered and found that the problem was only a bad 50 amp fuse. This could have been only a minor expense, but the bad fuse destroyed both batteries. Dee asked if this fuse should or could be checked out in the future. They told her this really never happens. ONLY TO POOR DEE AND JOHN.

We were thankful that the mechanic did such a thorough check. If they had not located the problem, this could have been a reoccurring problem. Sorry, we do not have a picture of the RV being towed in last night. We were 45 miles on our way to Las Vegas, when the RV lost power. Fortunately, Dee was able to pull off the highway on to a dirt road. Thank heaven for AAA. A tow truck appeared 2 hours later. Dee and John spent the time waiting talking to people who stopped by to offer help or advise. It is interesting to see and hear how people live in different parts of the country and why they chose to live in the desert.
